Essential Resources for Community Empowerment

Programs

Programs represent broad, strategic, ongoing efforts that contribute to our long-term mission. They can include multiple projects and initiatives. Our programs at Claerio are designed to empower, educate, and support our community through sustainable, long-term efforts that build resilience, self-reliance and growth. Each program aligns with our mission to promote human rights, environmental stewardship, and food security. Explore our programs below to learn more about our work and how you can get involved.

Women’s Empowerment Program

Our grassroots Women’s Empowerment Program is dedicated to enhancing women’s rights and opportunities within the community. Through this program, we offer a safe haven, critical resources, and valuable skills to help women overcome challenges and thrive. We have finished our general research, informed all relevant stakeholders and departments, ran a small community questionnaire with the parents or guardians of the children attending the Paolo’s Preschooland are already working with one direct victim that is integrated into our workforce.

  • GBV Shelter in D’Kar: This pilot and research safe space will provide support, counseling, and resources for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). Here, women can find refuge, build resilience, and work toward recovery.
  • Skills Training and Community Advocacy: To support long-term empowerment, we provide practical skills training, ranging from vocational skills to self-advocacy. Our advocacy initiatives foster community awareness, encouraging broader support for women’s rights and safety.

Together, these efforts create an inclusive environment that empowers women to lead and make meaningful contributions within their communities.

For safety and confidentiality, details of our pilot shelter project are limited. However, if you represent a company, foundation, or if you’re interested in a deeper, more impact-full involvement in the shelter’s construction, we warmly invite you to connect with us directly. Together, we can discuss ways to support the establishment of this vital resource, potentially partnering on the development of specific areas within the shelter.

Please reach out to learn how your commitment can make a lasting difference for those seeking refuge and rebuilding hope.

Youth and Education Program

Our Youth and Education Program nurtures the next generation through education, environmental awareness, and hands-on learning experiences. We believe that investing in children’s education and sustainable practices today builds a better tomorrow.

  • Preschool and Early Childhood Education: We offer quality, continuous free early childhood education focused on holistic child development. Our preschool provides a safe, enriching environment where young children can learn and grow.
  • Earth Warriors Green Curriculum: Through our collaboration with Their Worldand Earth Warriors, we integrate an environmentally friendly curriculum that encourages children to care for the earth and adopt sustainable practices from an early age.
  • Partnership with Thomas More University: In collaboration with Thomas More University, we host intern teachers specializing in early childhood education. These interns bring fresh perspectives and support our preschool teachers while gaining valuable teaching experience.

This program empowers youth to embrace learning, explore new ideas, and become responsible stewards of the environment. As our collaborations grow, we aim to expand internship opportunities with both international and, more importantly, national schools and universities. This supports our vision of fostering a truly diverse learning and research environment that encourages cultural exchange, collaboration, and a forward-looking global perspective.

If your institution is interested in sending interns to join us, we’d love to discuss potential partnerships. Please contact us to explore how we can work together.

Sustainable Agriculture Program

Our Sustainable Agriculture Program is a cornerstone of Claerio’s mission to promote food security and sustainable farming practices. By Sustainable Agriculture Program

Claerio’s Sustainable Agriculture Program is a pillar of our mission to foster food security and sustainable farming practices, especially in the challenging Kalahari Desert. Working with sandy soil and harsh conditions, we avoid the common use of chemical fertilizers by relying on extensive composting, a worm farm for nutrient-rich castings, and organic fertilizers crafted using Korean Natural Farming techniques. While this is demanding work, we strive to balance experimentation with consistent productivity, focusing on resilient crops like winter salads, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, and garlic.

  • Perma-culture Garden and Fodder Production: Our drip-irrigated perma-culture garden supports a variety of crops, while our sprinkler-irrigated fodder field, supplies essential feed for our animals. We’re also exploring micro-green fodder production as an efficient, sustainable way to supplement our feed.
  • Animal Husbandry and Beekeeping: We raise chickens, sheep, goats, and pigs, emphasizing sustainable, responsible care. Our beekeeping efforts not only boost biodiversity as this is our main focus in the desert but also sometimes provide us with honey, benefiting both the ecosystem and community.
  • Fish Culture Micro-project: Now in its third generation, our fish culture project is helping us model small-scale, sustainable food production. We plan to expand this initiative to establish fish ponds that local families could use in community gardens, integrating water-efficient crop irrigation.

Through this program, we aim to demonstrate effective agricultural methods, fostering a resilient, community-centered food system that can be scaled and adapted as needed.

We invite you to support our programs or get involved! Each of these programs is designed not only to create immediate positive impacts but also to inspire sustainable growth for years to come. Explore how you can join us in building a thriving, empowered community.
